Over 300 people battled the fierce weather conditions last night to attend the Purty kitchen in Dun Laoghaire for what was set to be a spectacular night filled with music and beer!  Three great bands from Dublin were on the roster . First to the stage was Halfshot a Dublin Rock band who performed covers of artists from the 60′s and up , from kings of leon to rolling stones. Their cover of Hey Joe by Jimmy Hendrix got the crowd jumping.

The loose Connections graced the stage at around 10:20pm and performed for over an hour to the sold out crowd and put on a show that excited everyone , with their ex tactic blues tunes to their upbeat acoustic melodies. Their version of “Spoonful” by Howlin Wolf was great and made a lot of heads turn! Ready for the occasion and dressed to impress , it was a show topping performance , which received a great response from the crowd.

After The Loose Connections, The Juice took the stage and put on a headlining act , despite sound interruptions and an entrance by over 12 Gardai who stopped the gig , they still managed to perform a very energetic set , to a crowd of 300 that were really up for the night.

The Loose Connections much anticipated CD “Chasing Shadows” is due to go on general release in early January 2011. The CD which will feature 4 tracks by the band is sure to have you singing and relaxing to the rythems that are created by the group.

Chasing Shadows brings a mix of acoustic rock to upbeat blues giving all music listeners a taste of their unique sound. They have been described by Dec @ FM104 as sounding like Glen Hansard back in his good days at The Frames.

The CD which is their first studio recording together as a band will be available for download on itunes , (the physical CD will also be sent to the buyers address also!), HMV  and Tower Records. More shops will be announced before release. As always the CD is available before release at their upcoming gigs, including Stephens’s Day at Purty Kitchen Dun Laoghaire.

It’s been a busy few months from recording our first studio CD , to performing gigs in and around Dublin, all in preperation of our massive CD launch that will take place in January , in venues in Bray, Galway, Limerick, Dun Laoghaire,  Dublin and many more.

We recently were invited to perform a song on the online music channel  ”Balcony TV” which was recorded on the Balcony of the Pent House suite in The Morgan Hotel Dublin. It was a great experience but it was freezing cold so was hard to play guitar and sing but we gave it our best shot. The Loose Connections single “Honest Broken Man” released on Youtube a little over three weeks ago has done magnificent so far. Spreading awareness for the homeless community , it has attracted some big names and organisations. Set for release on itunes in early January 2011 alongside their debut Cd “Chasing Shadows” it is looking likely to grab a chart position within Ireland.

In just three weeks the video has grossed over 5,000 Youtube views, been embedded on over 600 Facebook profiles, been tweeted over 2000 times, been embedded on over 100 different sites and blogs and has raised a massive $5,200 for charities in Australia and worldwide.
